Obfuscate this

Let's face it, spam is a problem we all face and it can be even worse for anyone with a website.

One way spammers collect email address is through the use of robots that scan webpages looking for email addresses which they add to their mailing lists.

We've been using a tool for a little while now that allows us to make an email address obscured or unclear (obfuscate) within a webpage, while still allowing it to be presented to visitors.

In a nutshell, it makes email addresses invisible from robots.

This means an address that once looked like someone@yourdomain.com in your page source code now looks like this...

&#115&#111&#109&#101&#111&#110&#101&
#64&#121&#111&#117&#114&#100&#111&#1
09&#97&#105&#110&#46&#99&#111&#109

... but still looks like someone@yourdomain.com when viewed by your visitors.

We've added a page to our services section where you can get the obscure version of your own email address - it's instant and free to anyone to use.

To try it out for yourself, just click here. If you need some help or have questions, we're here for you.

Sharing the love,
David
