'Some Pig'

It's been an exciting couple of weeks.

Two awards from the Web Designers Network, the launch of More Exciting for CitySearch and we're now happy to announce our newest client : Film Victoria.

After meeting with Kirsten and Emma, we've just started work on a Film Victoria site for the soon to be released film - Charlotte's Web. The whole film was shot in various locations in Victoria and we're proud to be a part of it all. Stay tuned for developments and updates on the site, we'll let you know when it's going live.

Buy Now @ Jazzhead

We've recently finished a new 'Buy' tool for the Jazzhead website.

With new artists being added all the time, it was getting hard to constantly update the site with every new release. The fact that information and media was already being entered into other sections of the site made the rework even more frustrating

Leveraging the data already present, we were able to provide a search tool that lets the user start to type in any part of the artist name or album name, bringing them results and the option to read more or purchase the album directly.

....give it a go here :

Making it More Exciting!

City Search have just launched a viral marketing initiative that helps Citysearch visitors make their city more exciting.

How does it work? Just visit www.citysearch.com.au find something you'd like to do with your friends, go out for dinner, see a band, firm, arts performance or just go out for a drink. Then you can click on the "More Exciting" link to send an interactive invite to your friends.

We've setup the database, emailing handling, hosting and reporting for the system. It's been an fun process working with the flash developers to get the data moving right between the flash movie and the database.

Visit the site and see for yourself!

Congratulations!!!

The process of developing a website is a real partnership with our clients.

I guess you can think of it like a house. You can build something which looks great from the outside but on the inside - is a disaster.

The content for our sites is worked out with our clients. We can help guide the process of developing the content, but at the end of the day - it's what the client wants to put out there and say to their visitors.

We're really please to announce two awards that we and our clients have received this month from the Web Designers Network.

Gold Award
Greg Bailey Consulting - www.gbc.net.au

Silver Award
Choc Art - www.chocart.com.au

We'd like to congratulate Greg, Robyn and Kerry on the recognition of their sites by the Web Designers Network.

A nice bit of news for the end of the day!

Stay tuned - we're looking forward to announcing tomorrow, our largest and probably most dynamic project to date....

Ask Questions - Get Answers

We've just finished a survey that's been designed to gather feedback from members of the Doyalson RSL in NSW.

Clubs Consulting have been working with the club and initiated the survey (both paper based and online) to gather as much information from members to help them improve the club.

The online survey we developed allows Clubs Consulting to gather the data easily without the need to manually input information into a spreadsheet - improving turnaround and accuracy while at the same time giving members a better opportunity to contribute their feedback.

We also assist with scripts that crunch all the numbers once the data is collected, saving hours of work.

I think that covers it... all up, it's all good.

Eleusian

We've just finished an upgarde to the Eleusian website.

Eleusian have just launched a program where their visitors can elect to become Eleusian members and get access to special offers and product releases through their online store.

We've setup and integrated a database for membership details so Eleusian can add and edit member details and a login function that allows members to access member priviledges within the site.

The Breakfast Show

The Breakfast Show is funny. Very much your 'morning radio telly' but funnier....and you can see them....which is good, cause they're attractive too. The site launch (today!) will hopefully add another dimension to the shows presence in Melbourne. The site will provide a way for the viewing public to interact with the show, its presenters and win stuff!

It was a great experience working with Laura (producer) and Emma, Declan, Justin and the guys at C31. Being newbies to the visual medium of TV, Dave and I got the chance a few times to get behind the scenes, check out how they get the show on air and snack on TV freebies.

Congrats on a great show and we're proud to have them as a client.... Check it out, every Friday morning, 7-9am on Channel 31 Melbourne.

There when you need them

We've just finished some work recently for one of our newest clients, Ambulance Victoria.

Ambulance Victoria needed to send out an email newsletter to the 1,800 Primary Schools in Victoria. We organised the email blast, unsubscribe and bounce management - all up a great result.

StumbleUpon

In a nutshell... StumbleUpon helps you discover great websites. It should come with a warning however... it's very addictive.

Visit - www.stumbleupon.com and download the toolbar for Firefox or Internet Explorer. You just register and tell them what you're interested in. Then just click on the Stumble icon in your toolbar to have great relevant websites delivered click after click (after click).

We just implemented the StumbleUpon links to our blog so people can nominate a site to share with other StumbleUpon users. We were chuffed to get an email from Geoff who runs StumbleUpon requesting info on how we did it.

If you're interested here are the instructions.

1 - Login in to blogger
2 - Click on the template tab (to modify template)
3 - Find the <$BlogItemBody$> tag
4 - Cut and paste the following after the above tag

5 - Save Template Changes
6 - Republish your blog

A great way to start the day.

The Black Sorrows

This week we welcome the return of The Black Sorrows to the Australian music scene. A band that's had a phenomenal 40 members, triple platinum success and of course, Joe Cammileri. Chained To The Wheel, Hold On To Me, Harley & Rose... just three tracks you'll know along with a lifetime of contribution to Oz music.

We implemented a new site, complete with RSS feeds to keep you updated and a register option to get on the mailing list. Go on, head over and check it out....

Cheers

Keeping it clean

Tribal DDB have just launched a micro site for sensis.com.au which is focussed on helping the environment - Greening Australia.

Once again we have been involved in setting up the tracking, reporting and web hosting side of things.

What the deal?
It's pretty simple, if you search using the sensis.com.au homepage at the moment they will donate money from every search towards reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Each search from the homepage will make enough money for 100gms of carbon dioxide to be removed which equals 3 hours of running your clothes dryer. The money will go straight to Greening Australia, so they can plant more trees to absorb the carbon dioxide.

But wait there's more...
If you pass the URL to a friend using the link on the site, they donate even more!

Sensis.com.au - Greening Australia

Do the right thing and get on to it.

Medicare Australia

We had the pleasure of working with Medicare Australia in the last fortnight. It's always good to be able to provide a useful, value-laden solution in a short amount of time.

Medicare had the need for a benchmarking survey, ongoing for 12 months with real time reporting to keep track of feedback. Within a few days of being contacted we were able to provide an online survey inclusive of validation and a supported database for their reporting.

I like my job...

Obfuscate this

Let's face it, spam is a problem we all face and it can be even worse for anyone with a website.

One way spammers collect email address is through the use of robots that scan webpages looking for email addresses which they add to their mailing lists.

We've been using a tool for a little while now that allows us to make an email address obscured or unclear (obfuscate) within a webpage, while still allowing it to be presented to visitors.

In a nutshell, it makes email addresses invisible from robots.

This means an address that once looked like someone@yourdomain.com in your page source code now looks like this...

&#115&#111&#109&#101&#111&#110&#101&
#64&#121&#111&#117&#114&#100&#111&#1
09&#97&#105&#110&#46&#99&#111&#109

... but still looks like someone@yourdomain.com when viewed by your visitors.

We've added a page to our services section where you can get the obscure version of your own email address - it's instant and free to anyone to use.

To try it out for yourself, just click here. If you need some help or have questions, we're here for you.

Sharing the love,
David
